Most people that have installed RealPlayer or RealOne
have quickly realized it's one of the worst programs ever
released.
- It tries to be the default for every
file type on your computer.
- It tries to stay in your system tray
by running at startup, even though there is no need for
it to be.
- It displays a constant barrage of advertisements.
- Instead of just making it be a good
application to play .rm files, Real Networks decided to
make it do everything else, poorly.
The good news is that there is an independently developed
alternative, appropriately called "Real Alternative".
At the time this tip was written, the latest version is
Real Alternative 1.23.
