- Duplicate your
original layer in Photoshop
- Go to Image / Adjustments /
Threshold
- Adjust the Threshold
Level using the upsidedown white triangle at the bottom. (Be
sure your Preview box is checked, so you can see the
results)
- You'll typical
want to adjust the threshold to the left, until the image
only contains partial highlights. For instance, 80% of
the image is white and 20% is black.
- Click OK to accept
and apply the threshold.
- Set the layer mode
of this new layer to Multiply
- Duplicate your
original image again.
- On your 2nd, newly
duplicated original image ...
- Go to Filter /
Blur / Smart Blur ...
- Set the Radius
to about 70
- Set the Threshold
to 100.0
- Set the Quality
to High
- Set the Mode to
Edge Only
- Click OK to apply
- Invert the image,
using the shortcut key, Ctrl + I
