- Create a new document with a white background.
- Type
your text in, using a dark color and a large font size.
- Create
a new layer. This new layer should appear above your text
layer
- Fill your new layer with white. The text
will disappear, but don't worry, it's just behind the
new layer you just filled in.
- While the new layer is
still selected, go to Filter / Texture / Grain
- Set the
Intensity to 100, the Contrast to 70, and the grain type
to "Vertical". (Feel free to experiment with
the values)
- Press Ctrl+I at the same time to
Invert the selection
- Set the layer mode of the top layer
to Screen.
- Now duplicate
that layer
- Filter / Noise / Add Noise
- Set the
amount around 12.5%, set the distribution to Uniform
and check the Monochromatic box
- Finally, go to Filter,
Sharpen, Unsharpen mask. Set the Amount to 500%, the Radius
to 250.0 pixels and the Threshold to 255 levels.
You may want to reposition some of the top layers to get
the best effect.
