Since there is no current setting for this ... to remove the annoying Firefox search sound that occurs everytime you type in a character in Firefox:
- Type in "about:config" (without quotes) in the address bar.
- Double-click on "accessibility.typeaheadfind.enablesound" so that the status reads User Set | Boolean | False
- That's all! Now you can resume surfing.
Thanks to the show for these updated instructions. The initial ones we had caused problems in Firefox 1.0.5. These instructions should be safe for all future versions.
